Orient Kamasu Mako III Sports Diver RA-AA0001B Men's Watch

The Orient RA-AA0001B (also referenced as RA-AA0001B19B / AA0001B) is a premier, high-performance Japanese automatic diver-style watch from Orient’s celebrated Sports Collection. Globally recognized among watch collectors and dive watch enthusiasts by its famous series nicknames—the "Kamasu" (Japanese for Barracuda, inspired by its sharp, teeth-like index markers) or "Mako III"—this 41.8mm timepiece pairs a robust stainless steel case with a deep matte black dial, a day-date calendar window at 3 o'clock, an in-house automatic movement, a premium scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, a 120-click unidirectional rotating bezel, and a solid stainless steel construction. Designed for active men who demand rugged underwater capability, everyday wrist durability, and sharp sport-built aesthetics, it stands as one of the most respected tool watches in its class. The defining visual highlight of this RA-AA0001B reference is its high-contrast black dial face framed by a black anodized aluminum 120-click unidirectional bezel. Set beneath a premium flat sapphire crystal, the dial features bold, barracuda-tooth-shaped triangular hour indices filled with potent luminous material for low-light legibility, sharp arrow and sword hands, and a dual day-date calendar display positioned at 3 o'clock. The crisp monochrome contrast between the matte black dial background and radiant luminous hour markers delivers an aggressive, highly legible presence on the wrist. Beneath its rugged dive housing, the watch is powered by Orient’s reliable in-house Caliber F6922 automatic mechanical movement with hand-winding and second-hand hacking capabilities. Operating at 21,600 vibrations per hour (3 Hz) across 22 synthetic jewels, this self-winding movement delivers a dependable 40-hour power reserve with a daily precision rating of +25 to -15 seconds per day. The case features ideal sport-diver proportions, measuring 41.8mm in case width (46.8mm lug-to-lug) with a profile thickness of 12.8mm and a 22mm lug width, ensuring a planted, comfortable fit on a wide variety of wrist sizes. Dial protection is provided by a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal that maintains optical clarity in harsh environments. Engineered for aquatic adventure and heavy physical activity, the solid stainless steel case incorporates a screw-down crown, crown guards, and a solid screw-down caseback, achieving a certified 200-meter (20 bar / 660 ft) water resistance rating suitable for swimming, water sports, and recreational diving. The timepiece comes completed on an integrated stainless steel link construction, secured by a solid fold-over deployment clasp with a push-button safety catch.
