Orient Contemporary Esteem II SAG02004 Men's Watch

The Orient Contemporary Esteem II SAG02004 (frequently designated across global retail channels as SAG02004B0, FAG02004B0, or AG02004B) is a strikingly elegant open-heart dress watch meticulously engineered for the modern gentleman. Belonging to Orient’s sleek Contemporary collection and serving as the direct second-generation evolution of the legendary Esteem series, this model is celebrated for its balance of minimalist sophistication and artistic mechanical exposure. The undisputed crown jewel of the SAG02004 is its signature "Open Heart" partial skeleton display cleanly cut into the dial layout at the 9 o'clock position. This visual window allows a direct look into the rapid, continuous motion of the internal mechanical balance wheel. Set against a deep, matte black dial and decorated with polished silver-tone sword hands and crisp applied baton hour markers, it offers a dramatic sense of kinetic art that elevates traditional dress tailoring or smart corporate business wear. While the original first-generation Esteem models relied on a legacy, non-hand-winding movement, this updated Esteem II iteration is equipped with a significant technical upgrade. It is driven by Orient’s modern, in-house Japanese automatic caliber (Caliber F6T22). This 22-jewel self-winding mechanism gathers mechanical energy directly from the natural movement of your wrist to maintain a reliable 40-hour power reserve. Built for modern time-sync precision, it integrates hacking capabilities (a second-hand stop mechanism) along with smooth manual hand-winding through the central push-pull utility crown. The watch is carefully sculpted from marine-grade 316L stainless steel, displaying a brilliant polished finish that highlights its smooth, flowing case lines. To maximize the mechanical theater, the reverse side is secured with a threaded, see-through exhibition case back that exposes the full sweeping gear assembly within. The dial face is shielded by an impact-resistant mineral crystal glass panel, and the complete inner case is sealed to provide a robust 50-meter (5 bar) water resistance rating—ensuring absolute protection against rain, daily handwashing, and unexpected splashes.
