Raymond Weil Freelancer Calibre RW1212 Skeleton 2785-BKR-20000 Men's Watch

The Raymond Weil Freelancer 2785-BKR-20000 (popularly known among watch collectors and horological enthusiasts by its nicknames, the "Calibre RW1212 Skeleton", "Freelancer Skeleton", or "Black Skeleton") is a stealth-inspired, high-complication Swiss automatic mechanical dress watch. Unveiled to showcase Raymond Weil's independent horological craftsmanship, this 42mm timepiece features a fully openwork dial that reveals its proprietary skeletonized movement from the front. Designed for urban professionals who appreciate avant-garde mechanical transparency, all-black aesthetic styling, and high-spec Swiss engineering, it delivers a commanding wrist presence that transitions seamlessly from modern city life to formal evening events.  The defining visual highlight of this 2785 reference is its fully openworked black galvanic skeleton dial. The intricate architectural bridges frame the central gear train, mainspring barrel, and mechanical escapement. Held firmly at the 6 o'clock position by a dual-supported black bridge, the prominent visible balance wheel pulsates rhythmically. Barrel-shaped silver-tone hands and applied indices treated with white Super-LumiNova ensure optimal legibility against the dark mechanical backdrop, while an outer black ring features a precise minute scale. Beneath its transparent display, the timepiece is powered by the Swiss-made Raymond Weil Calibre RW1212 Skeleton self-winding mechanical movement—developed in partnership with Swiss movement specialist Sellita. Named after the postal code (1212) of Raymond Weil’s headquarters in Grand-Lancy, Geneva, this movement was engineered specifically to position its regulator organ at 6 o'clock on the dial side. Operating at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour with 27 jewels, this mechanical engine delivers reliable rate stability and a power reserve of approximately 38 to 41 hours. The watch housing is crafted from marine-grade 316L stainless steel finished with a durable black PVD coating, combining brushed and polished surfaces. Dial protection is provided by a scratch-resistant synthetic sapphire crystal treated with double-sided anti-reflective coating for glare-free readability. A screwed-down exhibition caseback with a sapphire display window reveals the movement's reverse side, fitted with a custom skeletonized, black PVD-coated oscillating weight. Sealed with a screwed-down crown embossed with the RW monogram, the case achieves a certified 100-meter (10 bar / 330 ft) water resistance rating, safeguarding the internal mechanics during daily wear and swimming. The watch comes completed on an open-work black genuine rubber strap with grey stitching, fitted with a black PVD stainless steel folding clasp featuring a double-push security system.
